Dragonfly MK 2 Trigger Adjustment

This article will explain how to adjust a trigger on a Seneca Dragonfly MK2. Most users of the Dragonfly MK2 will not need to make adjustments to the trigger. In the event your rifle fails to cock, or fails to fire after it is cocked, these instructions will allow you to return the trigger function to a normal state.  

Please note, improper adjustment to the trigger assembly could allow this air rifle to fire if dropped or jarred even with or without the safety engaged. This can cause serious injuries or death. Always check for proper engagement and smooth function of the safety upon completion of any changes to the adjustment screws. Adjust in small increments and test for proper function before adjusting further.

Before starting, please make sure your rifle is not loaded and you are performing the work with the muzzle pointed in a safe direction. 

First, you will need to remove the stock from your rifle; that will involve removing the trigger guard and the stock screw. 



Once the stock is removed, if the rifle is cocked but did not fire, you will need to dry fire the rifle (again make sure the rifle is unloaded and pointed in a safe direction. To do so, depress the sear; this will cause the gun to fire. 


Next , you will need to drive out the pin covering the sear engagement screw; the pin is shaped and if completely removed will only be able to be reinstalled in one direction. 




With the pin removed, turning in (CW) the sear engagement screw will increase sear engagement (correcting no or light engagement [gun is cocked but won't fire]. Turning out (CCW) the sear engagement screw will decrease sear engagement (correcting rifle will not cock).




Test the bolt to make sure the gun cocks. If the rifle cocks, decock the rifle by depressing the trigger while holding the bolt and moving the bolt to the forward position. 

Reinsert the stop pin, and put the action back into the stock.
